You are a true Renaissance man, Mr. Lime. Laughing

But you must admit they have a unique style... classic rock done in a peculiarly awesome way, Mr Lime thinks.

I mean, music nowadays sucks.

No, I like Supertramp. But they were nearly "old" when I was your age.

The only reason I listen to them is because my dad bought the CD -- he felt like reviving old memories.

Denying their brilliance would be futile.

I'm listening to OutKast right now, on my MP3 player. Greatness. Cool

Supertramp is okay.

Whenever I'm on the computer, I put iTunes on shuffle. Right now I have 1,142 songs on my hard drive, spanning about 100 different artists. Right now it's "Left of the Dial" by The Replacements.

Isn't that a bit excessive?

I fear people nowadays are too dependent on music-oriented machinery. Everyone seems to have their own Walkman, iPod, MP3 player or whatever... I don't.

Ah well.

Very Happy anyway, anger is not my friend.

Music, like film, is very important to me. Music often inspires me, and I enjoy listening to music as I work on my computer (writing, doing web work, whatever). Is having 1,142 songs on my hard drive excessive? Hell no -- and that number grows every day (and all songs on my HD are legal, by the way -- some legal online downloads, but mostly songs ripped from my CD collection). A friend of mine has over 10,000 songs stored on one of his hard drives. Yow.

I'd get an iPod if only I had the money.

Excessive? No way. I'm with Michael--I love to have music going all the time, and I have a separate hard drive just for mp3s, filled with nearly 3,500 files. (Like Michael, most are ripped from CDs. Last rip was the soundtrack to The Triplets of Belleville.) Sometimes I'll shuffle, sometimes I'll play entire albums. Right now I'm listening to "So Much for the City" by The Thrills.

You're a closet Luddite, aren't you Mr. Lime? Technology is our friend, my friend.
