Even though I would never go back to VHS, I had to fall for the "5 for $20" at Blockbuster today, and bought ten videos for forty bucks. Amores Perros, The Circe, Platoon, Girl Interrupted, Citizen Ruth, Proof of Life, Sunset Boulevard, Valentine(heh), Go, and Blowup. To add to that, I still have a 20 dollar gift certificate at Borders, which'll buy me either one new one or, possibly, two old ones. And then the three I hope to get for Christmas. It really is the season to be jolly. Mwhaha.

Heh, I'm a total sucker for that whole "3 for $20" deal too... heck, even those racks of $10 DVDs always pull me in. It's always a case of "hey, why's THAT movie only $10? I love that movie!"... and then I buy it, walking away like I got a great deal, and wonder what fool priced such a good movie so low.

The other day it was "The Green Mile", although it's happened the exact same way with "Soldier", "Fargo", "The Princess Bride", and a bunch of others.

Mrs. Miniver, through Barnes & Noble. It came with a free DVD that TCM has released to coincide with this year's "31 Days of Oscar." The freebie contains 7 films that all won Best Animated Short long ago. Coolage.
