Do you really think we've changed that much since 2000?

Despite all of Bush's talk after the 2004 election regarding a "mandate" for his policies--as if 51% is a national directive for him to press forward--I think both of his election victories show that the country is not nearly as conservative as this administration and the media like to pretend. I think the general populace would love the opportunity to vote for a candidate that's more moderate, if only the two parties would allow it.

Besides, I think most people that voted for W would never consider voting for a Democrat, and would pull the lever for McCain even while holding their noses. Meanwhile, plenty of moderate Democrats like McCain and would also vote for him. If McCain's the candidate, it's his election to lose.

I could definitely live with a McCain presidency, and would even consider voting for him depending on who would be the Democratic nominee. Unfortunately, I'm skeptical that the neocons that currently have a strangehold on the Republican party will let a McCain nomination happen.

They are not fascists! They are the underdog fighting for the little man whose being oppressed by "the man"...get it right...man. JK

Moving on...I start great topics.

On another note I am not in favor for moving towards any kind of moderate movement. While I would obviously take a more liberal republican than those of the current administration I see sweeping reforms in this country as the only way to stop the downward spiral we are in.

Overall I will be looking for the candidate who offers me a light at the end of the tunnel. A lot of people claim our generation marks the decline of the American Power that has dominated the last 75 years. I am looking for someone who will come in and be honest, tell me to my face that we have a lot of problems, and then offer a good way to fix it. I don?t want to hear that there isn't a problem, that we haven?t made any mistakes, and that we are going in the right direction. I want to see a new path, a better path, and one that leads America back towards the nation I hold in such high regard. It's time to have some humility and accept that maybe we are not the global moderators we'd like to be.

Perhaps the Bush administration has been screening that movie about self-appointed urban moderators, The Boondock Saints. Wink

Perhaps Wilco may one day decide to make music that wouldn't put my grandmother to sleep! Laughing

Weak. That's just embarrassing.

Can I just say that I love TurboTax? I've used it the last two years, and it's amazing.

Thank God that I'm not in that stage of my life where I have to actually worry about taxes. Oh yeah, and I also thank my mom.

Thanks yo my freelance job at the paper I originally was in line to pay $800 income tax, but thankfully being self-employed in that respect has its benifits, such as writeoffs...so im actually only paying about $500...still...ouch

Maybe this will turn out to be a good advertising ploy for Halliburton:

"We stand up for the American dream: the pursuit of greed, oil, and the reckless endangering of our friends via shotgun sprayshots to the face."
