Netflix: L'Argent, Phantom of Liberty, S21.

I've seen You Don't Know What Your Eyes Have Done to Me, and would recommend it. It's a documentary about Ada Falc?n, the legendary Argentinean tango singer who abandoned fame and fortune in the ?40s to become a recluse. The filmmakers employ an elegiac, subjective style that is equal parts journalism, speculation, myth, collective memory, and expos? of the documentary form itself. What finally emerges, though, is the story of a woman who gave up everything for a conviction--and that decision helps illuminate the gulf between public and private lives.

I'm definitely watching The Aviator again because, although I liked the movie, I don't think I got the full effect in the tedious December theatrical conditions, in which I had to lean over a rail to see the full picture for the three hour duration.

Sheesh. Was the tallest man in San Diego sitting in front of you?

Lol. It just so happened that I changed seats at the last minute and got the one in the very back on the side in the stadium seated theatre which hangs over the entrance, and by the time I actually looked at the screen and noticed, the thing was sold out.

Do you often sit in the back? Me, I prefer to sit relatively close. I like to look up at the screen, with the screen filling my peripheral vision. I don't like sitting so close, though, that I have to crane my neck or that the image begins to distort.

I'm generally in about the fourth row to the back at a normal theatre, on any given day. With the stadium seating, I'm not too concerned about where I'm sitting as they're all mostly acceptable. In The Aviator, I had to choose between up top with a rail in front of me or in the way in front in one of the seats that wasn't even a part of the vetical elevation...

That's what I get for going to get popcorn and only leaving the lame theatre-hand-out to save my seat.

I don't think we could be friends.

I generally sit close to the center; it's just about perfect.
