It was incredible. 5 stars, my second or third favorite of this year, and I doubt that will change. Let me collect my thoughts on this and I'll tell you more. Another terrific film about filmmaking, along with Ed Wood, Sullivan's Travels, and 8 1/2.

Have you seen Melvin van Peebles' film that this movie depicts in the making? Just curious - I haven't seen it yet.

Yeah, I've seen Sweetback. It's one of the top 20 most important films of all-time since it basically liberated blacks and their role in cinema. The film itself isn't that great though, and the new film Baadassss! is much better, imo. Very funny, touching, well done. See if it's playing near you, although I think it's just in NY and LA right now.

Awesome! It's actually coming to the theater I work at in about three weeks, so I can't wait.

Even cooler, I think: Coffee and Cigarettes will be coming to the Oriental on June 11! Yay!

Coffee and Cigarettes was here Friday and Badassss is coming this Friday. I want to see both. Speaking of art-house movies, I'm also extremely interested in Strayed, which is currently playing, as well.

Hmmm...I may hold off for awhile on this one because the final week of Twilight Samurai has approached, and I really want to see it.

Dude, you have awesome movies in your area. I would really love to see Twilight Samurai but, alas, I don't even know if it went to Chicago.
