That termanatrix chick was really sexy in this movie. I mean, if you saw the movie, she's was getting tossed around like a rag doll, and she looked flawless & Clair was awesome weird to see her finally a little bit more grown up. I loved this Terminator!

funny, these are some of my least favorite sci fi films, besides gattaca which i will never see although i really do like 12 monkeys

and i can't believe you (header) were not impressed by the action scenes. the wide load truck chase was the same thing as t2's first chase, but multiplied by 2 and then squared.

i also found myself thinking about t3 after seeing it. it seems to be more of a heady (and yes, more of a full-flavored and colorful comic book or graphic novel rather) film which left me more food for thought than the first two nicely wrapped packages. it also plays around with the established motif of time travel, adding a nice dark twist with the notion that judgement day is inevitable. in hindsight, you start developing a broader picture of this ongoing war of fate and time travel as an evolving organism.

i enjoyed it more than i thought it would. i would say i couldn't have imagined a better sequel. if cameron directed, i think my expectations would have been insatiable.

Hey, juhsstin - welcome aboard. Yeah, I was unimpressed by the action scenes, but I am beginning to realize I am as much to blame for not liking the movie as the actual filmmakers. I am gaining an irrational dislike for sequels recently, what with "2 Fast 2 Furious," "Legally Blonde 2," "X2," "The Matrix Reloaded," "Dumb and Dumberer," and others popping up consistently - is there any brand of moviemaking that requires less originality? True, some sequels are extremely inventive and defy the limits of the sequel (I enjoyed "X2" very much), but I found "T3" derivative at best. The scene on the large crane truck was well-done and gave me a rush, I'll give you that much - but it was a temporary, surface-deep rush, since it served a story I had already grown quite bored with.

Rampant sequels are no more common now than ever before. In fact, I'd argue that the '30s and '40s were more dependent on sequels, and also churned them out at a much faster rate, with little to no concern about offering any originality whatsoever. The history of Hollywood is littered with endless sequels, serials, and installments; the capitalization on previous success has been part of commercial filmgoing since its inception. No use complaining about it. Focus on the good stuff, ignore the inevitable junk. Time is the great colander, and history will remember only the important ones.

Juhsstin--why will you never watch Gattaca? And why do you consider eXistenZ and A.I. among the worst sci-fi you've seen? Surely you don't consider T3 more "heady" than those two? As much as I enjoyed T3, I would never argue that it is "thought-provoking," especially when compared to the many truly literate sci-fi pictures out there. A.I. in particular is still rattling around inside my head; it raises (and actually discusses) questions that are integral to an understanding of American culture.

beltmann, i hear what you're saying. i wasn't tring to refute your claims for which films qualify as the "classic heady" films. i was more saying that those types of films tend to appeal to me least, seeing as how shallow i am..

gattaca just looks really boring to me. AI definitely deals with a lot of engaging questions and issues, but i found myself to be more interested in reading what you had to say about it rather than actually watching it. the film almost bashes you over the head with the message of "okay this is what this film is about and we will squeeze all the juice out of these ethical and moral questions because they are such great questions." personally i prefer it if said moral issues were brought across more subtly and indirectly, because otherwise i feel i'm being lectured. i never credited spielberg for his understatements anyways, which is why my favorites of his are more of the frivolous and fun indiana jones style. or even jurassic park
