Basketball is a worthless sport, anyone who has any talent should wrestle in winter instead of investing time in sport that doesn't even have a distinct set of rules (in the nba anyway).

4th-and-26. Like a dagger that will remain embedded in my memories forever. Lousy playcalling at key moments literally hands the game away, and the outplayed team advances.

You can hardly blame it on the playcalling. You have to admit that that Favre throw was the biggest reason they lost. But my Eagles move on. Yay. Very Happy

Although that throw was one of the ugliest in his career, I can't say that was the biggest reason for the loss. The game never should have gone to overtime in the first place; senseless playcalling--especially the soft defense on 4th-and-26, or the cowardly 4th-and-1 punt--was the main culprit. The Packers should have easily sealed the victory in regulation. Still, I guess the good teams make it happen, as the Eagles did by taking advantage of those lousy errors.

Sherman and Donatell should both be fired, for being such big morons. It took Donatell all game long to realize that he had to keep someone in the middle of the field to stop McNabb from running, and then on 4th down we forget everything. Sherman is a moron, has he ever heard of a field goal! Plus we can never leave our defense to win a game, you would think they would have remembered that after the last time Philadelphia beat us.

I can't quibble with the 4th-and-1 goal line decision. It didn't work out, but it was a reasonable call and if Green scores Sherman is hailed a genius. I was much more frustrated by the late 4th-and-1, right before the punt. If we've learned anything this year, the Packers cannot rely on their defense in clutch situations. To my mind, it was worth gambling to hang on to the ball and keep our defense off the field. I was jumping up and down when Sherman made the cowardly decision to punt. I immediately had visions of the Eagles quickly moving down the field, scoring, sending the game into overtime, and then... oh, wait...

You know, we often say That's a game we shoulda won, but this time, it really, truly was a game we shoulda won. Not coulda, shoulda. A loss hasn't been so painful since Terrell Owens made that playoff catch in SF a few years back ('98?).

So, week two of this year's playoffs approaches.

Now that the Chargers played a terrible game and lost not because of the missed field goal attempt in overtime, but the lack of good coverage on defense, I can root for the Eagles guilt-free.

Who are you guys for now? (Especially since Green Bay was decimated).

Ahhh, Sports. Sports are great. One of my favorite subjects.

First of all, FREE BERTUZZI !!

Second, Matt Hasselback of the Seahawks should not be allowed to play another game of NFL football. He blew the playoffs the last two years for the Seahawks. They fought so hard to make it and Matt has to do something stupid every year. THANKS MATT! (Seahawks haven't won a playoff game in 20 years!!!!! I'm crying next year if they don't win one!!)

Third, the Sonics will go to the NBA Finals.

Since my Hawks didn't make it past the first round, I'm rooting for the Patriots. They have Corey Dillon who is a graduate of UW!! He needs a ring!

NCAA football is the best, though. Other than, that Auburn got screwed out of the Orange Bowl which is the BIGGEST bullshit I've ever seen in my life. Your thoughts on if Auburn should have played in the Orange Bowl please!!

NCAA basketball is also very exciting. The UW Huskies are doing great this year and I think that they will be in the Sweet 16 and mabye even in the Final Four.

As a diehard Packer fan--and former resident of Green Bay--I have more than a passing interest in Holmgren, Hasselbeck, and the Seahawks. I remember when Hasselbeck was still Favre's backup, and there were days when some of the more radical Packer faithful got so fed up with Favre's incessant interceptions that they would clamor for Hasselbeck to be given a shot at starting. Hindsight's always 20/20, but that was crazy talk even then. (Interceptions come with Favre territory; we just gotta accept that they are going to happen, and often. What we get in between them, though, makes them worth it.) Still, I like Hasselbeck and while he's not a top quarterback I think you're being a little too rough on him.

Not only am I being dragged to the next Superbowl, I'm being forced to watch Friday Night Lights tonight. Curse your black heart, sports! Thank providence for beer!

I hope you mean being dragged to watch it on TV, because if you're actually going to the game while we real football fans stay home, well, that's just not right. There's a moral absolute I believe in. Cool
