Michael, have you heard this yet?

I've only heard the two tracks available for download at matadorrecords.com ("Miracle Drug" and "Drink to Me, Babe, Then") and I dig 'em a lot. Really nice. I'll pick up the album at some point.

Weird. As I read your post, my CD player was actually playing "Drink to Me, Babe, Then." Coolage.

Playlist: "Way Over Yonder in the Minor Key," Billy Bragg & Wilco

I'm sitting here at 12:56 a.m., listening to that song on my headphones over and over. Beautiful. Wow. I just picked up both Mermaid Avenue CDs and I'm not too familiar with them yet, but I love that song.

CD Player: Brian Wilson's SMiLE

Playlist: A.C. Newman's "On the Table"

If Carl Newman's "On the Table" were a single, it would be the single of the year. And there appears to be barnyard animals on SMiLE.

That's one of my favorites, too. I really like both sessions, but I don't love them the way I love most Wilco--I think my overall appreciation for their achievement outweighs my actual enjoyment of the records. It's great, masterful stuff... but also not entirely my speed, at least not compared to their albums proper.

CD Player - Green Day (American Idiot) & The Used (In Love Andy Death)

Enough has been said about Green DAy, and I also agree that it is easily Green DAy;s most mature albumb and in my opinion the best they have made. They have taken the best styles they have used in the past and refined them while also inventing some new ones that are very interesting.

The new Used cd is also in my opinion a very good cd. The songs are not extreamly different from their 1st self titled album, but trhe style that they have is pure and the lyrics are very well thought out. Overal the new album stays with the style that they established, although refined. It is a thought provolking great emotional album that I think will give there better respect in the musical community, if you can stand some screaming that is.

Now I'm curious about American Idiot. I think that in the past three years they've kind of lost their touch, but maybe this'll recapture me.

As for what I'm listening to, right now, maybe I should appologize, even though I'm ga-ga over it.

Why apologize? Hilary Duff is better than Avril, Ashlee, or Britney. Laughing

You would be very, very surprised by this one. There are guitar solos on some of the tracks. I was quite impressed, but hesitant at first. Very progressive and moody, juxtaposing tracks, brilliantly.

Okay. I'll shut up.

If I didn't like her so much I would say "Maybe that's your problem in life."
