beltmann, check out the new snow patrol when it comes out. it's a dandy.

the pearl jam is very so-so. i've never bought into eddie vedder the singer and lyricist. i still don't. there are a few keepers to be sure, but they are almost cancelled out by the garbage.

the new prince, 3121, is a blast. he sounds as fresh and relevant as he did 20 years ago.

That's already preordered as well. I really enjoyed the last album.

I've never been a huge Vedder fan, either, although I am struck by the band's sheer longevity.

Heck Yeah, Wish You were Here is roughly 45 minutes long and has 5 tracks. The Wall is a Master Piece.

And now let's top it off with the Best of the Best

Antony and the Johnsons - I Am a Bird Now

Had been meaning to pick this up since last year, but never got around to it, until yesterday, when a very cool student brought me a copy. My months-long hesitation was related to reports that his voice was an acquired taste, but I definitely like what I'm hearing so far.

Paul Simon - Surprise

How do I know I'm getting old? As a kid I thought Paul Simon was just music for my parents, but now, at 31, I know that Pseudo Echo and Europe really sucked but Paul Simon is frickin' awesome. I love this album.

I like Paul Simon (S&G is great, Graceland is lovely), but so far I'm not really feeling this album. I'll give it some more time, though.

S&G is great, but I think I'd like the new Simon stuff a lot more if the hit-song wasn't on MovieTunes every hour, on the hour. And since I've had about 75 hours worth of shifts this month, perhaps my annoyance is reasonable.

Raconteurs - Broken Boy Soldier

I like it a lot. There are a half-dozen songs on this that are about as catchy as anything else I've heard this year.

Not really enjoying the new Pearl Jam, though.

See parent rock isn't so bad after all, beltmann. I enjoyed the album too.
