Why everybody gotta be hatin?

Oh, yeah, because "gaying up my thread" is the kind of insensitive bullshit that people spit out when they mistake ignorance and arrogance for wit.

Gimmick should never go away. Far too many laughs.

Usually I can take Gimmick's nonsense as laughable entertainment. But I don't find general homophobic immaturity as a barrel of laughs.

It wasn't the comment itself. It was the comeback.

Is it just me or does Claudio Sanchez sound exactly like Geddy Lee? Every time I listen to Coheed and Cambria I keep waiting for something like "If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice" to materialize.

Lots of interesting stuff mentioned recently... I've tried to get into Thursday, Death Cab for Cutie, Cursive, Coheed and Cambria, Bright Eyes, and Desaparecidos--really I have!--but none of them resonate with me, for whatever reason. (Jordan, I've been listening to War All the Time all the time. Nope. Nuthin'.) I like Franz Ferdinand, though, and the Eels rank as one of my two favorite bands. Good call, Stef! I love Daises of the Galaxy, especially "Daisies of the Galaxy," "I Like Birds," "Grace Kelly Blues," "Flyswatter," and, uh, well, every other song, too. I still think their most recent album, Shootenanny!, is criminally underrated, by both critics and by Eels fans. I'm still peeved that I missed their Madison concert last fall.

Claudio's an enigma; when listening to C&C for the first time, I had come to the conclusion that he was a skinny, high-voiced emo-twerp. Ohhhhhhhhhh boy; could I have been any more wrong? He's a large, leather-jacket clad, piercing-galore hair metal rockstar. Strange? Yes. Engaging? You betcha! Wink The only man that I know of with an overall higher voice than Claudio is Cedric Zavala, lead singer of The Mars Volta (formerly of At The Drive-In).

I like all those bands, but love none of them -- well, maybe Cursive, mainly for The Ugly Organ, one of the best albums of 2003. I really like Death Cab, Coheed & Cambria, and Thursday. I've seen Coheed and Thursday live -- I believe it was the same show, in fact -- and Coheed was awesome, incredible energy, but Thursday bored me, seemed like they were tired. I almost saw Death Cab, but got to the show late.
