I think Daisies of the Galaxy might be my favorite album of theirs. I listened to it all day today and can't get "Wooden Nickels" out of my head. I don't mind though cause I like that song, a lot.

I like that one too, but I would have guessed your favorite to be "Selective Memory," considering how E sampled it--his own song--for "Fresh Feeling" on Souljacker.

I have spent many, many days since 1995 listening exclusively to the Eels. Each song is like a mini-symphony. At the end of the day, though, I don't know whether to be elated or suicidal. (That reminds me of a friend (Mr. S) who once attended a marathon of Ingmar Bergman films--he was in awe of the steady stream of brilliant art, but at the same time, by the end he was thoroughly depressed by the subject matter.)

CD Player - I Voted For Kodos "Not Penis Cream"

Playlist - The Know How "Daniel Larusso is Gonna Fight"

I've been listening to way more ska than usual lately. IV4K is one of the best ska bands in the Mid-West. If you ever get the chance and like ska at least a little, you owe it to yourself to see them live. The Know How is a pretty unknown ska band from Florida that has an interesting style mainly due to their unique singer.

On the subject of Coheed and Cambria....I can't stand them. I saw them live last summer and they had a really good show, but I really didn't like the guys voice at all.

Cd Player #Car- Descendents- Cool to Be You

Cd Player #2- Dead Kennedys- Bedtime for Democracy

Car CD player: Dashboard Confessional - A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar

The more I listen to that CD, the more I believe that Carabba is honing is song-writing skills with each effort he puts forth... He might get tagged as the "lovestruck emo kid who plays for those 13-year-olds with weak and weary hearts", but I believe there's more to his songs than what meets the listener at the surface.

I like Carabba, but I still haven't heard A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar. I first knew of him from Further Seems Forever -- one of the best shows I've ever been to was an FSF show when Carabba was still fronting the band -- and I started listening to Dashboard when he left FSF. The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most really struck a chord with me when I picked it up a few years ago; the song "Best Deceptions" even inspired a short screenplay that I might still make into a low-budget short one of these days. At a Dashboard show a couple of years ago, a friend remarked that while he likes Dashboard, the music seems "so calculated," not really genuine. I couldn't disagree with him more. Carabba strikes me as completely sincere, and that's one of the reasons I originally responded so strongly to Dashboard and even FSF. I need to pick up A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar one of these days.

Listening to now...

Playlist: Further Seems Forever, The Moon is Down

Car CD Player: Far, Water & Solutions

You are my hero! Smile The Moon is Down is probably one of my favorite CD's that I own, and my signature comes from a song off of it called "Wearing Thin" (even though it's not the strongest track on the CD [that title belongs to "New Year's Project"], the chorus of that song resonates with me so much that I just get goosebumps whenever I hear it).

Selective Memory is also a fantastic song, so I guess you could say you were right?

Lately I've been listening to a lot of Deftones (Around the Fur), Fiona Apple (When the Pawn...), and Yo La Tengo (And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out).
