Obviously Chippewhite's a studio shill, so he/she probably won't appreciate it when I say that Polar Express looks more like a Halloween movie to me. That trailer--grotesque both in terms of visuals and sap--is downright chilling.

Err, im gonna have to disagree with that comment there. i do agree that the animation of the people looks a bit bizarre. The eyes of the kids look like porcelain dolls. But c'mon, a halloween film? ive been a fan of the book since i was a young'n, and i'm excited to see the movie. just cuz i'm a newbie, doesn't mean you have to be rude...

Well, you are a shill (a quick Google search reveals that you've been pimping that movie on other forums as well), so please don't whine about the respectable, rule-abiding members being rude to you.

				| Favourite Christmas movies have to be:
 Black Christmas

 Silent Night, Deadly Night

 Gremlins

I have several hundred holiday-related slasher movies (New Year's Evil, Bloody Birthday, etc etc only thing missing is The Easter Bunny Massacre) but none of them actually count as 'favourites'.

Ah, good choice! I never would have thought about that one, but that certainly counts for me, too. I also have affection for its sequel. Joe Dante is an underrated artist, I think. I'll even defend The 'Burbs, Matinee, Looney Tunes: Back in Action, and Innerspace.

I didn't realise it at the time- not being quite a film nerd at the time- but Dante's works were essential parts of my childhood. From wishing I was allowed to watch Piranha after hearing about it at school, to seeing Gremlins 2 at the cinema, to being excited by seeing The Howling for the first time, right down to rushing home to see Eerie Indiana after school, he was there all along. I wasn't too impressed with Small Soldiers, but he's done a lot of good stuff.
