In preferential order, I'd list the Best Picture contenders as:

1) MILLION DOLLAR BABY

2) SIDEWAYS

3) THE AVIATOR

4) FINDING NEVERLAND

5) RAY

Remember: Nike, white wine; Adidas, red wine. A good lager goes quite well with Vans.

Well, there's the result I think we all were hoping for.

I am holding you to this.

I expect to be invited to this event, and to be allowed to take pictures for posting here. Should I bring snacks?

Oooh...I forgot that it was for any award, not just picture. The score deserved it, by the way. Beltmann, I see potential here for us to co-direct a stirring independent documentary...can't you just see the trailer now: "Learn how one man puts his heart and his soul into defeating the formula film in the most desperate of situations!"

I already have a title: Sole Food.

Anybody else notice how Matt's been conspicuously absent from this thread? Hmmmm....

I am a man of my word.

So I didn't watch the Oscars last night -- too much homework -- but looking over the winners now, I'm quite pleased. I'm glad The Aviator and Million Dollar Baby dominated.

But Finding Neverland? For best score? Blech. Sure, I'll eat up that shoe of mine, but at least I'll listen to good music while doing so.

I can't wait to see Born Into Brothels, by the way.

A shoe. Not a sandal, not a stiletto, not a sock. A shoe.

Do you plan to bake, fry, or boil your shoe? Or do you prefer it bloody?

When is this happening?

I'm still in the planning stages. It will most likely be a black dress shoe, and I will probably broil it, garnish it with some oregano and sage, and wash it down with some Tom Collins.

I will hopefully provide some videotape evidence of this event, so stay tuned.

I am still killing myself over seeing PRIMER instead, back at the film festival.

Yeah, I can see what you mean; I was a bit disappointed by Primer.

If by "disappointed" you mean the feeling you get when you find out you've lived your entire life as a woman due to a botched circumcision.

Strangely enough, that's exactly the feeling I was talking about.
