Since hotlinking to off-site avatars is prohibited, I'll be happy to upload any custom avatars to our server for your use on this forum. If you already have one that you'd like to use, post a link to it in this thread or send it to me via PM. Likewise, if you have an image that you'd like to be made into an avatar, let me know and I or someone else here can probably help you out with that. There are just a few rules about avatars on this forum:

1. Animated avatars are prohibited.

2. Avatars can be no larger than 77x77 pixels.

3. Avatars can be no larger than 7k in size.

Any questions or concerns, let me know.

Just so you know what my avatar-making skills are like, I've made these:

image

(Currently Beltmann's avatar.)

image

(Currently mfritschel's avatar.)

image

(Currently my avatar.)

image

(Currently The Third M?n's avatar.)

Yeah, they're simple. I can do more complex stuff with Photoshop, but, hey, I dig simplicity. If you have something specific in mind, let me know and maybe I can cook something up for you. All of these custom-made avatars are available in the 'flipside-custom' gallery and anyone can access them when editing their profile information, but I trust that most of us won't use an avatar already in use by someone else. I'll make some more film-related avatars and put them in the 'custom' gallery. As always: any requests, let me know.

I received both PMs of yours, but I can't see any of your avatars above. As a matter of fact, I can't see anyone's avatar. All I see is a red X.

Ah, I fixed it. Thanks for the heads-up. Should work now.

Ah, thanks! Love my new one, I really appreciate your effort. By the way, have you considered writing a review of The Third Man?

Glad you dig your new avatar. Very Happy

I'd have to see The Third Man a few more times to attempt to do it justice with a review. To be honest, I'm often intimidated by the idea of writing reviews of classic films like The Third Man -- because, after all, what can be said about them that hasn't already been said many times over? Maybe some day when I'm a bit more confident in my abilities as a writer and a film critic.

I made 25 new avatars today. You can view them if you click on 'Profile,' go to the bottom of the page to the avatar control panel and click the 'Show Gallery' button. They're in the 'Flipside-special' gallery, while the ones already in use are in the 'Flipside-custom' gallery. If you want to claim one of the new ones, let me know and I'll move it into the 'custom' gallery so others will know it's taken. Here are a few of the new ones I made.

As always, I'm open to requests. Very Happy

Thanks for reviving my old avatar, Michael. I've actually been meaning to ask you to make the change ever since the new forum was installed--this one, that you created, looks much better than the one I linked to--but never got around to it. Nice work!

Just checked out the 25 new avatars. All of them look great, but I especially like the one from 400 BLOWS--it's tempting to make a switch. I also really like the Brigitte Lin one from CHUNGKING EXPRESS. Somebody should grab those quick!

Oh I see, you have to upload it to the server, too.

I actually tried to modify your Hannibal avatar, but it's not a valid .jpg image -- or at least that's what Photoshop tells me and it won't let me open it. If you send me a link to the original image you took it from, I can make it into an identical avatar for you and upload it to the server. Just let me know.

Hey, could you resize my avatar to 72 by 72 pixels dimension, please? I want to use it in RT, as well, but it says the image is too large.

Thanks.

Danny, your avatar is up now. It works.

Third M?n, I sent you a 72x72 version of your avatar via email.
