I found this on Cinemarati. The short: blogger/critic Eric D. Snider wrote a piece called I Was a Junket Whore, detailing his brief experiences on the junket-whore circuit for Paramount's World Trade Center. His article pissed off Paramount something fierce and got him banned from future junkets and screenings. Snider also exposes a fellow junket whore (this one a real, honest, thoroughbred whore) as a bad journalist and a liar in Bad, Bad Journalism: Tim Nasson, Wild About Movies, and talks about making Paramount angry in Paramount Pictures: 'Boo hoo! Some writer we've never heard of made fun of us! Boo hoo hoo!' Well worth reading.

That was indeed very interesting reading, but don't most people already know about the artificiality of press junkets? I guess I can't get too worked up about this "expose."

And while I agree that Paramount's decision to ban him from screenings was a petty, thin-skinned overreaction, I can still see why they were mad: After all, they spent more than $1,000 on him, in exchange only for his mockery! Implicit in his acceptance of the luxuries was an understanding that he would play the game nicely... if he accepted their offer, then it's reasonable for them to expect him to play nice, or at least keep his mouth shut.

Not that I blame him for taking advantage of Paramount to satisfy his curiosities, or for writing about his real feelings.
