Anyone here a fan of The New Pornographers?
I downloaded the few MP3s they have up at Matador Records and haven't been able to stop listening to them over and over. Catchy as hell. Wow. I'll definitely be buying Mass Romantic and Electric Version very soon.
And I just downloaded "Your Daddy Don't Know" from the band's website. It's a cover of a song by an '80s band called Toronto and their cover version is all cheesy, exhilarating '80s power-pop goodness.
Yeah, I've only heard four songs so far, but I love this band. _________________ Michael Scrutchin

Yeah, I got the album, Electric Version. At first I was a bit disappointed with the album as a whole, but upon repeated listens it's a massively infectious CD with only one or two semi-weak tracks. Songs vying for my #1 favorite track on the album: "The Laws Have Changed," "The New Face of Zero and One," "It's Only Divine Right," "July Jones," and "Miss Teen Wordpower." I can't stop listening this CD. _________________ Michael Scrutchin

Yeah, those are all terrific. What about "All for Swinging You Around"?
Have you listened to Mass Romantic yet? I actually bought that one first, and I think it might be, on the whole, the stronger album.
