Whatcha got? I'll go first...

Power Mac G4

Dual 533 Mhz PowerPC G4

640 MB RAM

40 GB 7200-rpm Ultra ATA Drive

60 GB 7200-rpm Ultra ATA Drive

CD-RW Drive

ATI Radeon Graphics Card (32 MB)

Running Mac OS X (Jaguar)

I love my G4, but those dual 2 GHz G5s are making me drool -- Santa, are you listening?

I'm still saving up for the G5 Power Mac. Someday. Someday.

Right now I have a:

2000 Dell Dimension 8100

Windows XP (Upgraded from ME)

60 GB Hard Drive

256MB Ram

1.0Ghz Processor

CD-RW Drive

64 MB Graphics Card

...and it ain't workin' too good. I need a Mac. Badly.

Apple may introduce a new G5 line in January, I hear. By the way, when you buy your G5, be sure to shop at the Apple Store for Education, where you can probably get at least a few hundred dollars knocked off the overall price.

Wha-hooo. I never knew you could do that for personal use. Crazy stuff, but great. Although, I probably will end up getting a G4 Powerbook or an iMac, because the monitor on the Powermacs are things that really kill ya.

Did you go to "Shop for yourself" rather than "Shop for your school"?

That's strange, Danny. I just just checked and you're right, of course. When I purchased my G4 over a year ago, students were definitely among those entitled to education discounts. And from the posts at several online Mac forums, I see that many students are still taking advantage of these discounts. I don't know what the deal is. Huh.
