Go West I saw countless times as a kid, in my grandad's house... how we loved it. I have A Night in Casablanca and Room Service on DVD; the former is soooo underrated -- the finale with the cupboards is genius! However, A Night at the Opera is still the best Marx bros film.

This is an odd topic, but kinda fun. This weekend at the UWM Union Theater a Hungarian comedy/murder-mystery called Hukkle. It looks fantastic. And tonight: The 5,000 Fingers of Dr T at the Times Cinema. Huzzah!

I'm talking about the Buster Keaton film. I do LOVE The Marx Bros film Go West, one of their most underrated features, imo.

My five favorite Marx Bros. films:

1. Horse Feathers

2. Monkey Business

3. A Night at the Opera

4. Go West

5. Animal Crackers

Arg. I was twenty minutes into Exotica on the Sundance Channel, and now of course, it starts to rain like crazy so the freaking satellite reception goes off. Blast.

Dirty Pretty Things

The Grifters

Kill Bill volume 2

Man on Fire looks like it has purty fancy photography. I always like THE LOOK of Tony Scott's films so I think I'm going to hit a daytime showing of this.

4/24 - Dracula Has Risen from the Grave (1968) ***1/2

4/25 - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) *****

4/26 - The Road to Singapore (1940) ****

4/27 - Big Fish (2003) ****

I plan on watching these films between 4/28-5/4:

It was VERY good, and is on my top ten of 2003. I need to see a few more films though (The Cooler, Tokyo Godfathers, Last Samurai, Triplets of Bellville, Monster, City of God, and Mystic River; namely) before my list is finished, though.

Ooooh, Triplets of Belleville is my third favorite! It's awesome! I saw it four times in theaters (granted, it was free each time, but still...). It's completely delightful.

I have a personal love for all Universal horror films (also the Universal Sherlock Holmes films and the Abbott and Costello films of the same era) but I had all of the OOP discs, so I only bought the Dracula set for House of Dracula and will eventually be buying the Frankenstein set for the improved Bride of Frankenstein transfer. If you've never seen these films in the set, these are the best, imo:

Bride of Frankenstein

Frankenstein Meets The Wolfman

The Wolfman

House of Frankenstein

Dracula (Spanish Version)

Dracula's Daughter

Frankenstein

Apparently these Legacy sets have sold well so we may be getting more Legacy sets from Universal (*knock on wood*) when Van Helsing comes to DVD.

Dirty Pretty Things is a very slick indie film, it is on my top ten of 2003 so far.
