In West Bend we got 7 inches of blowing, drifting snow overnight. Initially we were given only a 2-hour delay, but the powers-that-be eventually just closed the schools. Here 7 inches of snow is chump change, but in this case the timing was just right: Since snow began falling in the early morning, the plows just didn't have enough time to work. That's why administrators hemmed-and-hawed all morning. Milwaukee Public Schools didn't close nor delay, even though the city was drenched in more than 9 inches of snow.

It snowed here this morning, and kept up until early afternoon until three inches coated the ground, all of which was melted away by nightfall. I was able to huck a pretty mean snowball at one of my friends before it left, though.

I'm glad you enjoyed your day off Eric, I did not have the same fortune - only a commute that should have been 30 minutes turned into 2 hours. I was very jealous when I heard the schools were closed

it was a wonderful day, it made the friday that followed seem to be a monday, and yet after it we had 2 more days off. It is undoubtably the only good quality of snow that remains in my mind. . . although this now only happens once a year, darn global warming.
