So I felt like spawning this one after seeing another post "books about film". Let's take a look at the other way around - how many movies have there been made about books? Right off the top of my head I can think of The 9th Gate, which is one of those films that really grew on me for that reason, but hmm... what others are there?

The Ninth Gate

Army of Darkness... sorta (ya know, the Necronomicon)

The Pagemaster...?

I dunno, I feel like I'm reaching. Remind me what other ones I'm probably forgetting...

The Name of the Rose, kinda

Necronomicon, kinda

Secret Window, kinda

Misery, kinda

The Dark Half-ish

The Notebook (?) haven't seen it, but it has "book" in the title

Writing and reading don't exactly lean towards dramatic cinema.

Give me a frantically flashing pen over flying corpses any day. Very Happy

Yesterday I watched Amir Naderi's Marathon, which is about a NYC woman trying to finish 78 crossword puzzles in 24 hours. In terms of cinematic drama, there's an artistic challenge.

Does Quills count?
